

Kihei is the coastal city of South Maui which is endowed with warm and sunny weather, beautiful shorelines, many great beaches and parks, and is abundant with activities and resources for residents and visitors alike.
Kihei fronts approximately 6.3 miles of shoreline. The total land area of Kihei is about 10.2 square miles. Kihei has a population of about 16,749 and ranks as the second most populated region of Maui (Kahului is the most populated).
Keawakapu beach in South Kihei is one of the most famous stretches of sandy beach which starts at the Mana Kai Resort and continues uninterrupted for about 3,500 feet right into Wailea.
Kamaole Beach Park is split into three sections and is frequently simply called Kam 1, 2 and 3. Kam 1 can be found at the crossroads of South Kihei road and Alanui Ke Alii Drive. The begining of Kam 2 is across the street from the Rainbow Mall and extends down to the Maui Banyan Condominiums. Kam 3 Beach starts at Keonekai Road and near the Hale Kamaole Condos.
Waipuilani Beach Park is in North Kihei and fronts the condos of Maui Sunset, Waipuilani, Leinaala, the Luana Kai Resort and the Maui Schooner.
There are currently about 79 condo communities in Kihei, many of which are beachfront, oceanfront or across the street from the ocean.
Development in Kihei is growing and there are many newer neighborhoods and subdivisions worth looking at. Kilohana Ridge is a great residential subdivision that's close to Keawakapu beach and right at the gateway to Wailea. Right next door there are brand new custom home sites available at Kilohana Waena where you can get a an 11,374 sqft lot for $494,900.
There are also a lot of great well-established neighborhoods in Kihei and Maui Meadows is one of the most popular places to own a home in Kihei. Maui Meadows has a lot to offer: Large lot sizes, great custom homes and ocean views that rival some the most expensive homes in Wailea!
While Condominiums do make up most of the oceanfront property, there are still quite a few beachfront homes in Kihei. Uluniu Road and Halama Street in North Kihei run parallel with the beach and there are many fantastic beachfront homes in that area. In South Kihei, most of the beachfront homes are off South Kihei Road and front the Kamaole beaches or Keawakapu beach.
